Pentatones was founded in 2001 by Hannes Waldschütz and Julian Hetzel, aka Schnigg in Cologne. In the meantime they expanded to a collective of musicians, to witch DJ Freak M, the MC and Singer Flomega, the Balkan Big Beatz Band Äl Jawala and the Singer Delhia are a part of. Their music is ranged between Triphop, Jazz and Electronica, at which the interaction between Digitalen Beats and Sounds with analog Instruments and singin is of a central meaning. The Pentatones Duo Hannes and Schnigg composes and arranges music, which they then distribute to other "members of the collective" all across the country. In this way they achieve various interpretations of original material, each "member" contributing a style influenced by individual factors. Ultimately they meet up and perform Live together.
